Membership
Free to join, open to every batch since 1952 (Sheares Hall and the Dunearn Road Hostels). Members get access to the chapters, the Sheares network, and a founding place on the record.
What membership opens
Somewhere to play again, venues booked for you, and people from every batch since 1952.
Keep playing
Alumni-run chapters built around whatever drew you in: a sport, a dance floor, a wine table. Each runs its own sessions, and the sporting chapters play for an annual Alumni Cup.
Easy venue access
Hall and NUS venues for games, training and events, booked through the SHAC instead of chased down on your own.

The Sheares network
Teammates, block mates and the wider Sheares community, connected across batches year-round. Career nights and mentorship, all among people who already know the hall.

A founding place on the record
Members on the register are inducted at the Founding Dinner. Your name on the record as one of the people who started the SHAC, from day one.
The rhythm of the year
Dates and sign-ups live on the events calendar. Here’s the shape of a SHAC year.
Founding Dinner
Where it begins. Founding members are inducted, the first chapters open, and the founding register closes at the Founding Dinner.
Chapter Sessions
Regular training and games as chapters open, alumni playing alongside current Shearites throughout the year.
Cross-batch Socials
Casual games and hangouts across batches and CCAs. Meet Shearites from the batches either side of yours.
Career Night
Mentors, referrals and the Sheares professional network in one room for an evening.
Alumni Cup
Alumni and residents across every chapter, playing for one trophy.
Your ideas become events
Propose anything. If enough members want it, SHAC runs it. New events added as chapters grow.
The year ahead, in phases
Launching (date TBC). The founding register decides which chapters open first.
Interest Check
Ran April to June 2026. The interest check confirmed the demand and picked the founding chapters.
Founding Register & Foundation
The register opens to seat the founding cohort and decide which chapters open first, staying open until the Founding Dinner. Alongside it: venue arrangements with the Hall Master, outreach to founding members, and Dinner prep. The register is open now at shac.club/join.
Launch
The Founding Dinner. Members are inducted, the Telegram and WhatsApp chats open, and the founding chapters hold their first sessions.
Community & Scale
Chapters run regular sessions: monthly digest, cross-batch events, Career Night, the first Alumni Cup. Goal: 60–80 active members and six or more chapters.
Official NUS Alumni Group
We’re working towards becoming an official NUS alumni group once the numbers are there.
The member's part
Registering is all that is asked. For members who want to do more, these four are open.
Career insight, honest advice, networking. Mentors are matched with final-years and recent graduates who ask for them. Be the senior you wished you had.
Every chapter is led by a coordinator, a seat usually taken by an outgoing captain. The CCA you gave years to carries on under your name.
Members who wish to back the hall can sponsor kit, trophies and events, with their name attached. Arrangements go through the Board.
Every batch since 1952 deserves a voice. Batch representatives convene their cohort for reunions and keep their year close to the club.
Help shape the founding club
The founding register is open. Register now and help decide which chapters open first.
